With my current position as Parallax Vice President, I found myself having to introduce myself multiple times in different environments. From in-person events to Zoom meetings.
I also noticed an increase in LinkedIn searches and people looking for information in general. If I Googled myself, I didn’t find any relevant information.
About 25 years ago I used to have an online presence, as an instructor of one of the first Robotics courses in Latin America (Curso de Robotica in Argentina during the late 90s).
Then I transitioned to work for Parallax Inc, translating educational material to Spanish, teaching Educator’s courses in the US and abroad, and Managing the Education and Tech Support departments.
Then the need to lower material costs for our educational customers took me in a different direction. I was strongly involved on improving contract manufacturing conditions to keep the quality of our educational products while lowering the costs. We even offered contract manufacturing services to smaller companies that wanted to remain competitive. But contract manufacturing (making products for different customers) is a very secretive business. My online presence slipped away.
Now back at Parallax, I decided to create this very simple website to load some basic information, starting from my current CV information.
Over time I will be adding posts about projects or different jobs I had over the years.
I will also be including information about some jobs or positions I had over the last 20 years (volunteer firefighter, beekeeper, non-profit board member, etc.).
